Introduction to Strategy Builder

Building a Strategy

The Strategy Builder defines the steps and provides tools to define business strategies. Typically, these are strategies to be executed by one part of the organisation – the Strategy Area – for the whole or parts of the organisation.

For example:

  • An IT strategy, defining the way to provide IT services to the business areas.
  • A materials acquisition strategy defining the way to purchase materials for the production areas.
  • A distribution strategy, defining the way to distribute goods to the points of sale.

The Strategy Builder guides the user through these four phases of the development of a strategy:

  1. Establish the Business Perspective
  2. Establish the Actual ‘As Is’ Perspective
  3. Calculate the Gap
  4. Develop the Strategies
